David Wilson (Geography and GGIS, Urban Planning, Unit for Criticism) was recently made a lifetime Association of American Geographers (AAG) Fellow for his contributions to critical urban studies. His research focuses on the class and racial production of disadvantaged and elite spaces, emergent governances in neoliberal days, and the racialized constitution of urban policies in cities of the global north and global south. Also, David received a CAPAS Fellowship for 2023-24 from the Center for Apocalyptic and Post-Apocalyptic Studies from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He will be in residence there examining the rise of the global fear economy and the surfacing of what he terms Dracula urbanism.
